Because it’s not uncommon for wild forrest creatures to run screaming from my mom…
There was a very interesting posting/speech of Eric Stephenson from Image at C2E2 this weekend.
The fact is, he’s right. Comics, to me, are at a very exciting point right now. For the last few years, really, all eyes have been on the medium. Hollywood is fixated on us. Fans can find comics easier than ever. Creators can find their audience… heck, they can invent their audience! Digital is the great equalizer, where a young girl making comics on her Macbook can hold her own next to companies that have been around 50+ years (with studio backers).
In the last year or so, I got my first published comic online. Then printed in a very cool magazine. Then we did an ashcan. Which is a bit backwards from how things worked back when I was growing up.
But I got to do that (mostly because Levi is awesome and brought me along with him). And so many other people are doing the same thing, or more, and better… So I see very much what Eric is talking about.
And I think that’s kinda’ awesome.
