Hey there, you with the stars in your eyes.
Good day to you, brave Spells reader!
So, let’s take a step back and examine ourselves, shall we? You and I both know that there have been some… challenges… when it comes to posting the strips regularly and on their normally scheduled days, right? Now, I don’t want to lay blame. Some of it was my fault, none of it was your fault, we both played our parts in this.
It’s also December. And we’ve been posting from the Spells Holiday Special (also known as “Spells #3: Black Christmas”) and it would be maybe a little silly to still be posting these pages well into January or even February.
So I’m going to just post the rest of it. Today. Right now. Scheduling be damned! Just pour it all out for you guys.
Which means, frankly, these blogs, such as they are, are a bit of a slog to do already. Since I as your trusty narrator wasn’t actually involved in any of these comics as they came out, I often have to pull out some random bit of blathering to put into this spot anyways. It’s a struggle, especially when I’m trying to come up with some pithy joke and title based on one page of a continuing story. Some people have that magic, and I’ve done my best, but I think we can both agree that you come here for the pretty comics, not for the blabber underneath, so if I’m giving you the art (finally), then we’re good. Our transaction is done, mutual satisfaction fulfilled, and so on.
Sound good?
Now you’ll have all of Black Christmas to get you through the rest of this silly season, and you’ll be safe to get snockered on eggnog-laced brandy and hide under your tree (which is a polite way to say ‘pass out’). And I can try to figure out what I’m going to do to stay on schedule with Levi’s World. Bamboo shoots under the fingernails are probably in order there.
Anyways, hope you enjoy, and have a happy holiday (hopefully as booze-soaked as a fruitcake). Enjoy!
