Why do we even have that rope?

I’m going to be a little bit selfish this week and talk about someone who is at least friendly with Levi and Don’t Ask Comics, but more someone that has been a friend to everyone out there that makes and loves comics (with his partners Rich and Jamar, both of whom I’ll talk more about eventually).

John Gallagher  was introduced to me several years ago through a Free Comic Book Day issue of his BuzzBoy, which has just started posting online at KeenSpot.com.  I was pretty taken with the book, so I wound up ordering the collections from his web site.  I kinda’ followed John around online a bit, and then I saw he was doing a podcast, The Comic Book Diner.  I tuned in more out of curiosity at first, but then I found out it was all about teaching the ins-and-outs of making comics to the public (people like me!) who have always dreamt about doing such things themselves.

At first, anyways.  It also became just as much, to me, about these three friends, who, yes, make comics.  But they also have a great rapport, fantastic senses of humor, and just a wealth of information about pop culture (comics and more).  And yes, they get silly at times, but I would tune in to these three watching movies together,  a la MST3K, and still have a blast.  Although it’s been a while (hint!).

Either way, I am a proud Boothie, a huge fan, and even a Kickstarter supporter (anxiously awaiting my hardcovers).  I’m also, unofficially, a guest-star of one or two of the episodes.  Guess I’m just overly inquisitive.
